This zine is a reflection on a time that felt deeply transformative, not only for me but for many others. Those two years changed my life forever, sending it in an unexpected direction. With time, I’ve come to realize that every decision I made, despite the curveballs life threw my way, was the right one.
Through this project, I wanted to capture the uncertainty I felt while balancing it with uplifting illustrations and soft pastel colors, creating something hopeful out of that chaos.
This was an assignment for my Advanced Typography & Layout class. I came up with the story, made the
illustrations, and put together the layout as well.
This assignment was designed with a set of guidelines to put our typography skills to the test. Among the critical criteria we had to adhere to were the inclusion of illustrated characters, captions, headlines, subheads, headers/siders/footers, careful consideration of size, and meticulous attention to the amount of copy.
The illustrations were made in Illustrator and the whole thing was put together in InDesign.
This is the first Zine I ever made and it inspired me to work on more!
