Housed in Daufuskie's historic Maryfield School House, School Grounds Coffee, founded by husband-and-wife team Pam and Brian, serves fresh coffee, baked goods, and Low Country charm in a cozy classroom-style setting loved by locals and visitors alike.

After 8 years of business, Pam and Brian decided they needed a rebrand. I combined the palmetto tree, a cup of coffee, and the historic Maryfields School to create a modern yet warm and familiar logo that reflects both the coffee shop and the spirit of the island.

CLIENT: SCHOOL GROUNDS COFFEE
BRANDING

Promotional video created for the Mary Field School, home of School Grounds Coffee, as well as for Daufuskie Island.
Aimed at attracting more visitors to both the island and the café. I filmed all the footage and handled the entire editing process.

School Grounds Coffee’s original logo came with a few challenges. Created years ago by a friend of the owners, the lost files made it impossible to create new variations for merchandise.
The design itself was crowded, hard to read, and didn’t scale well. While familiar to locals and tourists, it no longer reflected the personality, story, or growth of School Grounds Coffee as the shop prepared to move forward.
